About Me

    Hello.  My name is Maria de la Nuez and I have been teaching in South Florida for twenty-four years.  I have taught second, third and fifth grade.  I have been teaching first grade for the past five years and I love, love, love my little ones.  I have a Bachelor degree in Elementary Education, a Masters in Reading Education, a Specialist in Mathematics Education.  I became a National Board Certified teacher in 2001 and I am happy to say I recertified in 2011. 

       I am married to a wonderful, hard-working man.  We have three handsome, kind-hearted and energetic boys young men.  Brian is nineteen and a sophomore in college, Joey is seventeen and a senior in high school and David is twelve and a seventh grader in middle school.

     I have been following blogs for almost three years and have always wanted to begin one, but I had no idea how to go about it.  So this summer my goal was to learn and join the world of blogging.  After looking at countless You Tube video, I am on my way to meeting my goal.  I am so excited.  I look forward to sharing and learning from fellow teacher.
